Happy Monday from Berlin!
This weekend I visited the Berlin Graphic Days festival at Kater Holzig with friends, and this was the first thing we saw...
Kater Holzig is a rather famous place in Berlin, an alternative mixed media culture center and club, created in an old soap factory.
The facades of the buildings are decorated with graffiti, wall sculptures, and other random objects.
There are several different bars, cafes, a fancy restaurant, clubs, a theater, a cinema, art exhibition rooms - and it's all on the banks of the Spree River in Berlin.
Each room is something like an art installation with a sense of humor and attention to detail.
It's really a lot like going to a giant "Berlin show."
Wherever you look there is something interesting to see -
from vintage lamps
and other creative flea market finds
to street art
in all sizes
- some of it with a message.
There are also whimsical and decorative outdoor installations
even an old-fashioned "photoautomat"
- and I noticed this small sign after I had been taking photos for at least a couple of hours...
The Berlin Graphic Days show featured many local Berlin artists, and you can see a photo gallery of their works here.
It was a beautiful day and evening spent with friends, and I hope you are enjoying my art and culture discoveries - Berlin style ;)
You can follow my live photo stream as I continue to explore Berlin on Instagram.
In the meantime, I've also been working hard on my Wild Courage e-course, collecting my guest interviews, refining my content, adding helpful links and resources, and much more to inspire and motivate you with your own creative projects.
Since this is the first time I'm offering Wild Courage, I'll be customizing it for my students as we go along.
What would you like for me to include in my new course? I'd love to hear your feedback, so please leave a comment or send me an email.
In just two short weeks, our global group of creative women will be getting started, so come join the fun!
Sunny hugs today from Berlin,
p.s. - By the way, did you meet my Soul Sisters I + II? These awesome, encouraging ladies are sharing their tips and stories with us, and I know it's going to be wonderful! xo
