Today we are back in the US and travelling down south to visit Jessica Gonacha Swift, who is sharing a sweet, romantic Christmas tradition she has with her husband. What a great idea!
Hello! I'm Jessica Gonacha Swift, and I'm an artist/surface pattern designer in Atlanta, Georgia in the USA, although I am originally from Boulder, Colorado. Each year my husband and I buy each other a new Christmas ornament for our Christmas tree.
It's a tradition we started 5 or 6 years ago (we've been together for 7 years and just got married this past August!), and it's one of my favorite parts of the holidays. I love taking them out of the box where they've been stored all year to hang them on the tree-- it's so lovely to have memories about each ornament, and we're growing our collection in the process.
These are some photos of some of my favorites from over the years. Some are silly, some are beautiful, and some are just plain adorable. It's time for me to start searching for the ornament I'll buy this year-- etsy, here I come!
I love Christmas time, and I'm looking forward to having a bit of downtime to reflect on the past year and create some goals for the coming year. I'm going to be in California for a week for Christmas, where my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are having a baby (the first in the family!), so I'm wishing them a happy and healthy delivery. And for the new year I intend to create wild success and abundance in my life! I'm not big on resolutions, but I love setting positive intentions. 2010 is going to be fabulous!
Thanks so much for inviting me to be a part of this wonderful series, Stephanie! :)
Thank you for your very positive, inspiring artwork and blog Jessica!
