Today I wanted to share some of the beautiful papers that arrived on my doorstep recently! The colors and patterns are so vibrant, intense, juicy, delicious. I can't wait to use some of these in my next collage series.
The papers are printed in India, and are non-fading and acid-free.
Some of patterns have touches of golden and silver paint and/or traces of glitter, which I love!
We can all use a little more sparkle in our lives, can't we ;)
The other set of lovely papers I purchased lately were made in Japan. Very different, but equally enchanting.
The surface is velvety and matt, and several of the papers with geometric designs were hand-printed.
I love the Japanese aesthetic.
And lastly, I ordered some new French watercolor brushes that I had been dreaming about for a while, and thick, textured watercolor papers also pulled by hand in France...
What a multicultural set of fresh supplies I have now! It is always exciting to try out new brushes and papers, and this should encourage me to get in the studio for at least a little while each day. I don't expect to complete a collage or painting every single day, but I do want make a habit of spending time on my artwork or at least in my sketchbook without exception! It's so easy to let all of the daily chores take precedence...
