Weimar is famous because Goethe lived and worked here - in this house purchased for him by Duke Carl August
as did the poet Schiller - who had to buy his own more humble abode.
Goethe also had a nice garden house, another present from Carl August
where he had a beautiful view of the Haus der Frau von Stein, one of his many muses.
Now Goethe and Schiller hang out together on the town square as larger than life statues.
Our girls were more interested in the swing on the playground
and walking through the historic cemetery. I love those big trees.
Last stop: we relax in Coburg and visit the castle.
