As promised, we took a real life "jingle bells" two horse open sleigh ride this week! My German parents-in-law were very sweet to organize this memorable trip as a holiday treat.
For about an hour, we journeyed through a frozen, wintery Alpine forest.
It was gorgeous.
The sun broke through the clouds and shined brightly
as we rode past this chapel in the woods.
We gazed at this beautiful castle while we (and the horses) took a break midway.
This lovely lady, the children's German grandmother, organized our trip - thank you!
After our castle viewing, we all piled up in our sleigh and rode back through the forest.
Everyone was happy, including my mom, the girls' American grandmother.
Sophia and I cuddled in the cold
and Lucy's smiles helped keep us all warm!
Are you ready for the new year?
I'm planning our farewell menu, and I am gathering ideas for celebrating tomorrow night.
What are your New Year's Eve or New Year's Day traditions?
I'd love to hear!
