Painted Pages: a beautiful new book from artist Sarah Ahearn

This week I received my copy of the most beautiful book I've held in my hands for quite a while! New England artist Sarah Ahearn, my artist birthday sister, has produced Painted Pages - a gorgeous new book featuring her paintings, sketchbooks, and creative process. She also profiles ten fellow artists in this book - and I am very honored to have been included :) Thank you Sarah, what a gift!

The reproductions in the book are amazing and feature many detailed, close up images of Sarah's beautiful collages.

There are also lots of peeks inside of Sarah's lovely sketchbooks with useful information about how she collects resources and inspiring materials for her collages.

I found the technical information, especially on image transfer techniques very helpful.

I enjoyed seeing so many of my favorite artists included here - for example Heather Smith Jones

Those are photos of my studio work table with my sketchbook and one of my finished collages. I'm so excited to have been included in this lovely group of artists.

Thea Couglin did an incredible job with the photography in Sarah's studio, and in the above photo we see Sarah beaming out at us :) If you aren't familiar with Sarah's artwork, be sure to go over and say hello on her blog, peek at her beautiful prints in her Etsy shop, see her new original collages at Nahcotta, and of course check out her book. You can also read the interview I did with Sarah for my "artists who blog" series here.

By the way, I'll be sending out my monthly newsletter this week with a free shipping code to use in my shop - if you would like to subscribe, the link is here.

Have a lovely day and all the best to you!
