Creative Courage Soul Sisters: Part I

Today I'd like to share a bit about the 12 lovely, creative women who have been so kind to give their time and thoughts as special guests for the Creative Courage interview series that is part of my e-course.

Jessica Swift is an artist and designer originally from Boulder, Colorado who now lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

In her own words, she writes, "I believe we are visual creatures, and we crave worlds filled with sights and images that make us feel joyful. I believe we are meant to do what we love, to feel joy. I'm blessed to be a full-time artists and graphic/surface pattern designer; I'm truly living a life that I love."

She is co-creator of The Declaration of You e-course, runs an extremely popular online shop, has an awesome, successfully funded Kickstarter project for patterned rain boots, and just developed a new line of beautiful cell phone cases

One of Jessica's creative dreams is: "to have stores full of my products around the country and around the world."

Susannah Conway is a photographer, writer and the creator of the wildly popular Unravelling e-courses.

She now leads these workshops online and to date her courses have attracted over 2,500 participants from 40 countries around the world. A Polaroid addict and very proud aunt, her first book, This I Know: Notes on Unraveling the Heart (Globe Pequot Press), launches in June 2012. She is also co-author of Instant Love: How to Make Magic and Memories with Polaroids (Chronicle Books, 2012).

Susannah lives in Bath, England, and next month she'll be opening registration to a brand new e-course, Photo Meditations: Infusing Your Images with Soul. Her Unravelling e-course will open again in late November ready for the Winter 2012 class starting in January. She'll also be teaching at the sold out Instant Love Polaroid Retreat in Marrakesh, Morocco in February 2012.

One of Susannah's creative dreams is: "to fall in love again. I can think of nothing more challenging and inspiring than that."

Sarah Ahearn is a mixed media painter from New England and author of the beautiful new book Painted Pages.

She writes, "I especially like to paint tiny coffee cups, migratory birds and imaginary flowers. My paintings are layered with found images, fragments of text from old books, and pieces of outdated maps."

Sarah leads workshops at Squam and sells her artwork at Nahcotta Gallery as well as through her online shop. You can find glimspes of her studio and creative life on her lovely blog

One of Sarah's creative dreams is: "to paint and teach workshops for all ages in my backyard barn studio space."

Shannon Kinney-Duh is a multi-talented creative artist, yoga teacher, and workshop leader.

Shannon writes, "As I practice yoga and art, I feel more deeply connected to my authentic self. I love all art forms, especially fiber, intuitive painting, and art journaling. I consider myself a student of life."

Shannon is the creator of the delightful Inside Out e-course, A Creative Adventure of Self-Discovery, and the upcoming Mothering with HeART e-course.

You can learn more about Shannon's many projects on her Free Spirit Knits blog.

One of Shannon's creative dreams is to: "take a world tour traveling with my family to visit all of the amazing souls, life-explorers, and inspiring dreamers who I've made deep connections with - so we can enjoy being in each other's presence, while playing, learning, and discovering new things together!"

Alessandra Cave is a Brazilian born photographer, who has travelled the world and is now based in sunny California.

She writes, "I'm curious by nature and I love to travel and experience new cultures. I'm drawn to vibrant colors, the ocean, the charm of simple life and the inspiration found in the most ordinary moments."

Alessandra is the creator of the wonderful Gypsy Girl's Guide - a place to share inspiration among free-spirited gypsy girls, taken by wanderlust who believe in following their dreams.

You can also catch Alessandra teaching workshops at the Tea House Studio, The Makerie, and Camp Shutter Sisters.

One of Alessandra's creative dreams is to: "have my own photography / art studio where I can be immersed in my world: work, relax, meet with clients, and host parties."

Pixie Campbell is a mixed media artist and workshop leader based in Southern California.

She writes, "My purpose as a mixed-media artist is to unlearn everything I was taught about life and art in order to experience it in my own unique way. Armed with a strong drive to explore beyond all of my safe limits and stories, I like to push my edge while practicing courageous self-reflection."

I adore Pixie's e-course SouLodge: A Sanctuary for Wild Women, and you can also find her teaching at Squam and at Serendipity Retreats. Pixie's artwork and unique medicine bundles are available in her online shop, and I always love to read about her adventures on her delightful Pink Coyote blog.

One of Pixie's creative dreams is to: "expand my retreat and teaching experience to other countries in a way that really helps women push past their limits and opens their hearts."

I am so inspired and awed by these creative women who will be joining us in the Creative Courage e-course over the next 7 weeks, sharing exclusive in-depth, personal interviews.

I'm so honored that these gifted women have taken the time to participate in this first session!  Thank you Jessica, Susannah, Sarah, Shannon, Alessandra, and Pixie! You are incredible!

Amazingly enough, another 6 Creative Courage Soul Sisters are taking part as well. Part II of the series is coming up today. To enjoy their delicious interviews, be sure to sign up here before Monday, September 26th.
