I'm not usually one to care much about going up into large windowed disco balls to have a better view of the city - but the Berlin TV Tower or "Fernsehturm" is a true landmark, especially for the East Side of Berlin.
Every day when we walk to school, we can see this tower and one or both girls shout out "Fernsehturm!" They have both been fascinated by this sight since we moved and have asked constantly why it is there and what it is for (very logical questions actually!)
So on Sunday, we took the elevator ride up 200 meters + to have a look!
It was the first time we've done something like this, and it was quite a sight for the kids to look down at all of the buildings and try to find our apartment amongst them.
One thing that struck me is that Berlin is truly flat as a pancake - quite a different landscape than seeing the Alps in the background in Munich!
We had wonderfully clear sunny weather, so we could even see a shadow of the TV Tower on the ground below.
Sohpia thought the retro inspired rotating chairs were fun too.
Tomorrow I will begin posting my 12 Countries in 12 Months travel accounts from Greece and Sweden, more coming soon!
Hope you are having a great week too!
