European Artists Spotlight : Rosenrot Berlin

Today I'd like you to meet my friends Christine and Charlotte, otherwise known as Rosenrot Berlin!

Rosenrot Berlin is a celebration of "beautiful things for a beautiful life."

I love their unique German flavored combination of vintage and handmade - with a good dose of humor - that comes through in all of their products.

Christine and Charlotte make many handmade and embroidered postcards using vintage German photography and texts - like this happy birthday card - "Geburtstagskind."

They also make 3-dimensional pieces incorporating old photos and found objects,

and they've published two very cool books!

Rosenrot has a huge variety of buttons using vintage photos + text.

I especially love "Prinzessin" - of course.

You can find more handmade buttons in the Rosenrot Dawanda and Etsy online shops.

I've known Christine and Charlotte since our art studies together in Berlin, so I've been lucky enough to visit their studio too!

There are lots of lovely handmade paintings in all shapes and sizes!

Many of the Rosenrot paintings and collages use coffee, cake, and other foods as images.

One of my favorite collage postcards is this one, "I love big bottoms."

And this one is fun too: "The calm and happy feeling you get from chocolate should not be underestimated, use it instead" - or in other words "Chocolate makes you happy."

Christine and Charlotte also create many lovely hand sewn textiles as well, including pillows, baby bibs, and book jackets, and they do take custom orders.

One of their most loved items - they always sell out immediately - are the handmade Rosenrot angels.

Rosenrot products are sold at several art fairs in Germany, in private shops in Berlin, and online here and here.

Thanks for this peek into your creative process Christine and Charlotte!

More from Rosenrot on their blog, website, Dawanda, and Etsy shops.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hugs from Berlin!
