Springtime in Berlin + A Peek Behind the Scenes

Springtime has arrived in Berlin and everything is now in bloom

so I've taken lots of walks in the park

where I've noticed delicate beauties

buds and blossoms.

Maybe all of the pastel flowers inspired me to make springtime meringues for the very first time :)

We also had our first attempt at a spring picnic

and there was a trip to the Japanese bento box restaurant

with yummy matcha tea cheesecake for dessert.

We received a new blender as a present, so I've been experimenting with smoothies in different flavors

and intense, rich colors.

Springtime flavored hummus has been on the menu recently too.

Recently, I was very happy to meet up with several talented Berlin designers and bloggers, including Anna at her wonderful BlinkBlink studio, thanks to Nicola for all the perfect organization, and to Catherine and Indre for more fresh ideas and inspiration.

The past weeks have been extremely busy, but it is always great to take a moment for a coffee break with creative friends like Christine and Eleanor too.

I've been making an effort to get out and walk more this spring, and one of my favorite places to stroll by in the evening is this Lebanese cafe, where they scatter rose petals on the sidewalk at the entrance and greet you with candles and buckets and jars of more flowers than you can imagine.

A few more notes:

  • I think I'd have less cleaning to do if I lived in one of these (but where would I put all my books + artwork?)
  • Some very interesting perspectives on doing what you love here.
  • And I want this new book from Austin Kleon, how about you?
  • I did interviews with lovely Claudia (in English + German) and Murel (in German) too, thank you ladies :)

What are you reading, eating, tasting, thinking, and doing this spring?

Sending you sunny hugs from Berlin,
